Insightful Vinyl For The Week
"Don’t be gloomy. Do not dwell on unkind things. Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. Even if you are not happy, put a smile on your face. “Accentuate the positive.” Look a little deeper for the good. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life.” ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

THE 6TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS

Tonight we hung the Christmas Tree ornament. The Christmas Tree symbolizes The Savior's Sacrifice and Eternal Life. The evergreen is "forever" green because it never sheds its needles, representing the continuation of life after death and the eternal nature of Heavenly Father. We have been given eternal life through the love of our Savior, His perfect life, His sacrifice, His resurrection and our repentance. Just as the needles of the tree point to heaven, so should we look heavenward.
We made salt dough ornaments for our family activity. I made a momma gingerbread with a baby in her belly. All I had was a hard cinnamon candy, sure wish I had a butterscotch instead, because it looks more like I've been shot in the stomach than I'm pregnant! Oh well. We haven't finished painting them yet, but here's a before picture.
We finished reading Benjamin's Gift. It was a sweet Christmas story. The overall message is, "Thinking of others and working for their happiness is the way we find true happiness."
