Insightful Vinyl For The Week
"Don’t be gloomy. Do not dwell on unkind things. Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. Even if you are not happy, put a smile on your face. “Accentuate the positive.” Look a little deeper for the good. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life.” ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

TIFFANY'S 20TH BIRTHDAY

10/19/10 Jason sisters Carly (and her sweet little baby girl Emma) and Tiffany were in town visiting this last week. It just so happened that Tiff was here on her birthday. I love to celebrate birthdays! Any chance I get to make a cake, I'm there. She requested a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and I was able to try out a new recipe. It was so great to see them both, our visits together are few and far between. Happy Birthday Tiffany, we hope this next year will bring you great happiness, good grades at college, your first kiss, and your book published!!!

ULTRA MOIST CHOCOLATE CAKE
This cake is hands down the best chocolate cake I've ever made! It's very thick, heavy and moist. Next time I'm going to try it from scratch and not using a box mix, I was just in a real big hurry. I bet this recipe would be great with just about any type of cake.

Dark chocolate cake mix
1 c. sour cream
1 small box instant chocolate pudding
4 eggs
1 c milk
1/2 c oil
1/2 c water
Using an electric beater, mix together and beat 5 minutes. Pour into round cake pans and cake according to cake mix directions.

HERSHEY'S PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
1/2 c melted butter
2/3 c cocoa
3 c powdered sugar
1/3 c cream

Using an electric beater, mix butter and cocoa for 2 minutes. Add sugar and cream and blend until fluffy and creamy, about 5 minutes.
