THE DINOSAUR TRAIN....................
ALL ABOARD!!!!
WE'RE GONNA RIDE....RIDE....RIDE....THE DINOSAUR TRAIN!The Dinosaur Train arrived at Butterfield Canyon Elementary this morning at 9:45 am. There were lots of cheers and squeals and giggles of delight! Here is Silas with Dr. Scott, the Paleontologist. Si was so excited to meet him that he ran right up to him and practically threw his arms around him. He was jabbering a hundred miles an hour and showed him his Dinosaur sounds app on my iphone. Dr. Scott was impressed!
I learned a few things myself today. For instance, the picture below is what an acutal Velocirapotor looks like. It was more of a flying/walking bird and it was actually only 3 ft. not the 6ft+ it was portrayed as in Jurassic Park.
Dr. Scott was very nice and very fun for the kids to listen to. He works for he Museum of Ancient Life in SLC and he and his team have actually found three new species of Dinosaurs in southern Utah. One of which is the first in the world to be found with fossilized skin! Two of them are a type of Triceratops, they are called Utahceratop and Cosmosceratop (this one has 15 horns on it's head). I think I might have enjoyed the presentation as much or more than my boys.
