Insightful Vinyl For The Week
"Don’t be gloomy. Do not dwell on unkind things. Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. Even if you are not happy, put a smile on your face. “Accentuate the positive.” Look a little deeper for the good. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life.” ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

SPECIAL DELIVERY ! 4/28/12

I put Kresta in a box in the back yard and told the boys to come and open it.
They were giggling so hard when they saw her sitting in the bottom of the box!
Logan started playing peek-a-boo.
And Kresta started giggling.
It was precious.

Pudgy little fingers playing with the bottom of the box....
I love her rubber band hands.
How did I end up with a blue-eyed baby girl!
"Timber", Silas says and he pushed the box over. She wasn't so sure about that!

She let him know she didn't like it, she started squealing at him. "Oh no, here comes the monster", he said.

Silas started screaming, and then Kresta started laughing...

then roaring and growling. Wonder where she learned that?
She crawled out, then right back in again.
Silas decided to join her.

Just squeeze a little here....
and a little there.
One arm here, and an arm there. They could have played twister.
Kresta is starting to get bugged by his intrusion.
She's trying to push him out.
Silas give her a tender little pat on her head.
Poor girl. She puts up with a lot from her big brother Silas!

Happy Birthday Silas!

Last September Silas turned 5.
Silas...Smiley Siley...Si....Super Hero name: Cyclone Silo, aka: Sweetie Pie Si, Alternate Identity: The Siestermeister. Where has the time gone? I had to post some pics of him along his amazing journey here with our family.

Anyone remember that we called him squeals....because of his high pitched cry. Fam lovingly nicknamed him Tera, because he screetched like a teradactyl.
He could scream like crazy.....

and smile like crazy!
Most people don't remember that his eyes were startling blue not the light green they are now:

Silas is going through a Dragon phase and asked for a Dragon birthday cake. I made it out of rice krispies and chocolate cake. He wanted a dragon that was half spinesaurus/half dragon, talk about specific! I thought it out, and then just went for it. Since I'm not a great cake maker I opted to make the head and tail out of rice krispies to save time, effort and forgo a cake making catastrophe. The main body was chocolate cake cut and shaped to size, with fudge grahams cut in half for the spine. Jason was actually home for this one, so we had a late night date night making this birthday cake. I used Wilton Edible Colormist to spray the rice krispies, and colored buttercream frosting orange for the body. After it was all said and done I had an ephione: I should have just added orange jello to the melted marshmallow while make the rice krispies! I totally think it would've worked, in fact I'm gonna try it sometime. My hubby the enginner shaped the head and tail, and he did a great job.

He loved that there was fire coming out of his mouth!

Taking a big breath to make sure the candles are blown out!
 Lots of great presents...
 More legos.....
Check out the excitement on his face!
He loved Hoodwinked...so he was excited to get the sequel.
 Whoa! Magnetix
$5 bill from Aunt Taska. Just look at that face.
I made these rice krispie ice cream cones for his preschool class. I melted some vanilla frosting and drizzled it over the top, then added sprinkles.
Here is Logan afterschool (notice the pjs at 4 in the afternoon..what can I say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!) getting ready to enjoy his treat.

LOGAN TURNS 8!

Catching up from last year. Last July Logan turned 8.
A superhero birthday cake, for my superhero boy! I happened across heroclix one day, and was hooked. Because of all the marvel movies, etc coming out: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and The Avengers, they were a perfect way to decorate a cake.

THE GREAT BLOG UPDATE!

Yes, I'm still alive! I know...don't fall off your chair or anything. You can breath into a paper bag if you think it will help. Come to think of it, I probably should do that as well (lack of oxygen from chasing Kresta around the house). I'm seriously gonna have to remember that next time. The little muchin I just mentioned, she's the main reason I haven't blogged. I wish I could say that I've been traveling the world, or curing cancer or doing something spectacular, but I haven't....just the same old, same old. Holding down the fort. Keeping house. Raising my babies. We haven't been on any vacations this past year or done anything exciting because of my physical condition from the car accident. I do however spend a good amount of my day peeling food off the floor and sometimes the ceiling, the high chair and scrubbing it out of Kresta's clothes. She has got to my the messiest eater on the planet!  My main goal lately has been preventing her from developing Pica (the disorder where people eat anything they get their hands on). I swear, I have saved her life countless times: legos, screws, pennies...you name it, she's tried to eat it. We took a trip to the pediatrician in November because she decided to swallow to shiny silver, heavy, marble-sized magnet (courtesy of Silas who plays with his magnetix and NEVER puts them away!). So, although I haven't been doing anything AH-MAZING, I'm a mom, it's what I choose and I love it! I've accepted that my although my life is not glamorous, it's fun. It's always a crazy, hectic, ...forever running 10 minutes late to EVERYTHING, chaotic, can never find my phone, or van keys....or kids shoes when we are in a hurry (but will find a week old curdled sippy cup of milk), wacky kinda life. Although I may not know what's stuck on the van seat, or in Kresta's hair at the end of the day, I do know where pinky (K's blankie), fluffy (L's penguin), and McDonald (S's blanket) are, and I know what's important....my children. I'm just so thankful that I'm still here, and although my recovery has been long and painful, and is not by any means over, I still have my life on this big blue ball! So due to Jason working out of the state this last year, and the time I spend in with my recover in Physical Therapy....my blogging has taken a back burner. I will now begin catching up with everything. It's gonna take a month or so, but get ready for the great blog updation!
