Insightful Vinyl For The Week
"Don’t be gloomy. Do not dwell on unkind things. Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. Even if you are not happy, put a smile on your face. “Accentuate the positive.” Look a little deeper for the good. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life.” ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

Happy Birthday Silas!

Last September Silas turned 5.
Silas...Smiley Siley...Si....Super Hero name: Cyclone Silo, aka: Sweetie Pie Si, Alternate Identity: The Siestermeister. Where has the time gone? I had to post some pics of him along his amazing journey here with our family.

Anyone remember that we called him squeals....because of his high pitched cry. Fam lovingly nicknamed him Tera, because he screetched like a teradactyl.
He could scream like crazy.....

and smile like crazy!
Most people don't remember that his eyes were startling blue not the light green they are now:

Silas is going through a Dragon phase and asked for a Dragon birthday cake. I made it out of rice krispies and chocolate cake. He wanted a dragon that was half spinesaurus/half dragon, talk about specific! I thought it out, and then just went for it. Since I'm not a great cake maker I opted to make the head and tail out of rice krispies to save time, effort and forgo a cake making catastrophe. The main body was chocolate cake cut and shaped to size, with fudge grahams cut in half for the spine. Jason was actually home for this one, so we had a late night date night making this birthday cake. I used Wilton Edible Colormist to spray the rice krispies, and colored buttercream frosting orange for the body. After it was all said and done I had an ephione: I should have just added orange jello to the melted marshmallow while make the rice krispies! I totally think it would've worked, in fact I'm gonna try it sometime. My hubby the enginner shaped the head and tail, and he did a great job.

He loved that there was fire coming out of his mouth!

Taking a big breath to make sure the candles are blown out!
 Lots of great presents...
 More legos.....
Check out the excitement on his face!
He loved Hoodwinked...so he was excited to get the sequel.
 Whoa! Magnetix
$5 bill from Aunt Taska. Just look at that face.
I made these rice krispie ice cream cones for his preschool class. I melted some vanilla frosting and drizzled it over the top, then added sprinkles.
Here is Logan afterschool (notice the pjs at 4 in the afternoon..what can I say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!) getting ready to enjoy his treat.
